Scream of Injustice
Becoming a woman in Zanskar, film of Corillio. In a village in the Himalaya mountains a girl has 2 choices: getting married or becoming a non. An universal theme: do you become servile to your husband and his family or do you choose your own life. Going your own path, as a woman, is a pilgrimage, not only in Tibet, everywhere.

Your history determines who you have become now. All important events and persons put their mark on you in red paint, the colour of blood, pain and love. Nevertheless, your soul can free itself from the past: forgiveness sets you free and makes your soul shine like white light.

The cross as a symbol of destiny. You may have your dreams and ideals, but life choose it's own path, which brings the unexpected and unwanted on your path. That's a cross you have to carry: you loose your child, you become ill. You can fight your destiny or you can embrase it and then the cross becomes a path of light. ________________________

The cross as a symbol of destiny. You may have your dreams and ideals, but life choose it's own path, which brings the unexpected and unwanted on your path. That's a cross you have to carry: you loose your child, you become ill. You can fight your destiny or you can embrase it and then the cross becomes a path of light. ________________________

We, adults, remain responsable, as long as we close our eyes for this child-abuse. ______________________________________________

Inspired by the poems of Neeltje Maria Min, I have been working on the theme of child-abuse. In the Netherlands, every year at least 100.000 children become victim of child-abuse. We, adults, remain responsable, as long as we close our eyes for this child-abuse. ______________________________________________

We-Water : Water is the source of everything. Water formed everything in my pictures: the rusty fishing boat, branded by the salt water, the nets and ropes, as they are washed ashore at the beach. The title WIJ-WATER has in Dutch two meanings: We (humans are) Water and at the same time it means Holy Water (as used in church).
