Birdgirl - 1996 to 2004
Inspired by the poems of Neeltje Maria Min, I have been working on the theme of child-abuse. In the Netherlands, every year at least 100.000 children become victim of child-abuse. We, adults, remain responsable, as long as we close our eyes for this child-abuse. ______________________________________________

1996As long as adults look away, without taking action, children will be abused. In the Netherlands over 50 children die every year as a result of child-abuse: that means every week a child dies because of the actions of a parent .

What you don't want to know
2002The majority of childeren that is abused is very young, in the age from 0 to 9 years. Don't close your eyes to what you don't want to see: speek up for those children.
Holiday
2004With this painting I completed the theme of child-abuse in 2004. The birdgirl now is free to fly and sometimes she returns into my artwork.
